Announcing our new look!
Wilderness Way is currently re-painting the street-side of our building and we will keep you updated on line of our progress. The new store back will have a large mural of an outdoor scene with trees and plantings in front. We believe this new look will not only help improve the appearance of the building, but will greatly add to the look and feel of downtown Soldotna. This effort underscores Wilderness Way's commitment to preserving the environment and adding to the value and livability of our community.

Camping Accessories
As long as you're going to be out in the wild, you might as well be comfortable! And Wilderness Way can help you with that. From lightweight cooking stoves, plates and utensils to head-lamps, water filtration units and other accessories, we have what you need to stay warm and well-fed! Check out the information below for just a small sample of what we carry.
Water bottles and filtration: We have water filtration systems from Katadyne and MSR, as well as two kinds of disinfecting tablets. Which is best for your needs? Come on in and see the advantages of each system before your next back-county trip. One of these systems is a must if you are planning to hike further than you can carry water for, and the experts at Wilderness Way can show you the advantages of each system so you can decide for yourself what system is best for your particular needs. We also carry a wide range of Nalgene and Kleen Kanteen bottles to carry that water once you have it filtered!
So, by now do we have you taking along everything but the kitchen sink? Well, why not that as well? That's right, now you can even take the kitchen sink with you on your backpacking trip! This is a collapsible, waterproof fabric fluid container you can use for just about anything including washing up or carrying water. It folds down into a flat, compact, lightweight package that will fit into almost any corner of your pack.

Stoves: We carry MSR, Jet Boil and Optimus lightweight camping stoves in several sizes. For you die-hard lightweight backpackers, check out our great camping stoves! These are great lightweight stoves at a great price!
Head lamps: We carry headlamps from Princeton Tec and Petzl in all sizes and brightness levels. If you've ever tried setting up camp in the dark, you know why you need one of these! We also carry a good selection of marine and outdoor flashlights to make those after-dark projects a whole lot easier. Come in and look at our great selections of headlamps and high quality flashlights. 
Backpacking cookware: Sometimes the difference between "civilized" camping comfort and "roughing it" is as simple as having a plate and fork to eat with! From lightweight cooking pans and plateware to entire sets of camping cookware, we can make that next camping trip a lot more relaxing. Come see our great cookware that will let you take along a bit of comfort without breaking your back or your budget!
