Firearms Shipping and Receiving

Traveling to and from Alaska by air with a firearm can be a hassle these days, and traveling through Canada with a firearm is almost impossible. We are currently applying for our Federal Firearms Licence, and soon will be able to receive or ship your sporting or bear protection firearm through a 'FFL dealer to dealer' transfer. We will post on this website once we have obtained the FFL licence, or you can call the store to check on the status of our license.

Our fee is $15.00 each way per firearm, plus packaging and shipping charges, if applicable. This includes all required paperwork processing and FBI 'instacheck' procedure.

For receiving rifles and shotguns, you need to provide us with the mailing address of the FFL dealer who will ship your firearm to us, so that we can send them the required copy of our FFL. You should make the shipping arrangements with that dealer and prepay the shipping to avoid additional C.O.D. charges. We will receive and hold your firearm in our secure facility until your arrival. We recommend that you use Federal Express 2-day Economy service or UPS 2nd Day Air Service, but FedEx Ground, UPS Ground or U.S. Priority Mail with Insurance and Delivery Confirmation tracking may also be used (all of which take about a week in transit)

For receiving handguns owned by non-Alaska residents, special provisions apply and shipping must be done via Federal Express Overnight or United Parcel Service Red Label (both of which are expensive). For shipping firearms out of Alaska, we will need the FFL dealer who has agreed to receive your firearm shipment to mail us a signed copy of his FF License to: Wilderness Way, Inc., 44370 Sterling Highway, Soldotna, AK 99669. Contact us with the type, model, serial number and value of your firearm for a shipping quote. To save money you may supply your own packaging for shipping, but we must inspect the firearm before you seal it up.

We also will receive newly purchased new and used Class 1 firearms for you (i.e. 'Auction Arms' or private purchase) using the same procedures and fee outlined above for an FFL dealer to dealer transfer.

We will also order a new Class 1 firearm for you on our special prepaid deal: Wholesale Cost + Freight + 10%, and no receiving fee is required. Tell us what you're looking for and will find you the best price we can! Thank you.
